Tester Overview

Thank you for joining the Borg Labs testing program!

Our testers are an important part of the development process. Your feedback helps us identify bugs, improve gameplay systems, test new features, and create better experiences for players.

Testing is a collaborative process between players and the Borg Labs development team. Whether you are discovering a critical bug, testing a new feature, or providing gameplay feedback, every report helps us improve the game.

Tester Guidelines

Before beginning testing, please review the Tester Guidelines.

These guidelines explain:

  • How testers should communicate.
  • What information should remain confidential.
  • How to provide useful feedback.
  • Expectations when participating in testing programs.

Testing Versions

Different builds are created for different stages of development.

Read the Testing Versions guide to understand:

  • Alpha builds.
  • Beta builds.
  • Release candidate builds.
  • Known limitations during testing.

Ways to Help Test

There are many ways testers can help Borg Labs:

  1. Finding Bugs

Reporting issues with clear reproduction steps helps the development team identify and fix problems.

  2. Testing Features

New gameplay systems need feedback from different play styles and approaches.

  3. Providing Feedback

Suggestions about gameplay, balance, controls, and usability help us improve the player experience.

  4. Creating Test Notes

Detailed observations help developers understand how features perform during real-world use.

Our Testing Process

Testing follows a simple workflow:

  1. A tester discovers an issue or provides feedback.
  2. A report is submitted.
  3. The development team reviews and categorizes the report.
  4. The issue is investigated.
  5. Fixes or changes are tested in future builds.
